2020: Abort mission

There is not much that we as individuals can do to change the way the universe runs. We take what we get. And it seems that 2020, the year that will go down in history because of Covid-19, is one of those things we just get. Many of us feel scared, isolated, frustrated or simply unhappy during this unforeseen chapter of our lives. And like I already said, there’s not much we can do about it. But what we can do however, is trying our best to stay sane, stay healthy and improve ourselve as a person while we (for once) have the time for it.

I am not a negative person, but leave me alone with my thoughts for just a little too long and things can get out of hand. Being alone or having too much time to think just generally never really does me any good, so these are tricky times for me.

That’s why I decided to throw a little extra into the battle: this online platform. I basically have three intentions with this platform:

1. Take some time for self-reflection
What is this quarantine doing to me? The good and the bad

2. Start a conversation with friends and family
It seems that I’m losing track of some people due to the quarantine. Let’s pick up the thread

3. Pull together my final project
For my postgraduate I am supposed to create one last digital storytelling piece. In times where we can’t go outside to photograph, film or interview people, I decided to create something from home and try out a few things with Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects... I'll share fragments of my quarantine documented through video, photo and text.

In the meantime: stay safe!
